Pimlico’s oldest stake, the Dixie was first run in 1870 as the Dinner Party Stakes and was won by the horse Preakness, who is the namesake of Old Hilltop’s signature race.

After an overhaul, the Fieldstone Show Park kicked off the first day of the weeklong show with thrilling hunter and jumper competition. David Oliynyk rode to the top of the 1.15m Jumpers, while Kristen Bumpus piloted Cupid to the top of the ranks during the 1.25m Schooling Jumpers as she tackled the course on the grass field.

Hedreen has been a fixture in the industry since becoming the first Executive Director of the American Hanoverian Society in the late 1980s. During her tenure as head of that organization, and for many years thereafter, Hedreen worked tirelessly to develop an exceptional herd. “Retirement comes with mixed emotions,” explains Hedreen. “I have enjoyed the journey, relished the successes, made many friends along the way and most of all lived a life-long dream.”
