American Pharoah bids for Triple Crown in G1 Belmont Stakes

ELMONT, N.Y. – American Pharoah will attempt to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and first since Affirmed in 1978 when he contests the 147th running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park.

The third leg of the Triple Crown is the highlight of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival presented by DraftKings.

ELMONT, N.Y. – Triple Crown hopeful American Pharoah went out onto a sloppy Belmont Park main track for the first time this morning to stretch his legs and become acclimated with his new surroundings as he prepares for Saturday’s Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes as part of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival presented by DraftKings, and perhaps a date with destiny.

Zetcher Looking to Turn Tables on Longtime Trainer in Preakness Stakes

BALTIMORE –During 15 years of owning Thoroughbreds, Arnold Zetcher has enjoyed considerable success in major stakes with horses trained by Bob Baffert.

Yet the Hall of Fame trainer was the only one who stood in the way of Zetcher experiencing every owner’s dream of winning the Kentucky Derby on May 2 at Churchill Downs.

Owner-Trainer Considering Preakness for Tesio Winner Bodhisattva

Laurel Park based owner-trainer Jose Corrales has not ruled out a possible start in the Preakness for Federico Tesio winner Bodhisattva.

            Bred in California, Bodhisattva is a sophomore son of multiple graded stakes winner Student Council, whose Grade 1 wins include the 2008 Pimlico Special, also run at the Preakness distance.

KENTUCKY DERBY’S TOP THREE HAVE PREAKNESS ON RADAR

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sunday, May 3, 2015) – To set the stage for his press conference Sunday morning to reflect on this fourth victory, Hall of Fame trainerBob Baffert brought the star of the 141st Kentucky Derby — American Pharoah — out of the barn to pose for the cameras.

Bribing him with carrots, Baffert led the Zayat Stables colt to different parts of the circle of media and fans for photos and admiration. Several people reached out and petted the colt’s nose. After about 10 minutes of show, Baffert sent American Pharoah back to his stall and moved into the tell part of the program.

Orb Breezes Half-Mile in 47.18 for Preakness; McGaughey Thrilled

ELMONT , N.Y. – Kentucky Derby winner Orb breezed a half-mile in a seemingly effortless 47.18 seconds Monday morning at Belmont Park in his final serious work for the next leg of racing’s Triple Crown, Saturday’s Preakness at Pimlico Race Course.  The series concludes Saturday, June 8, with the 145th running of the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park .

Secretariat’s winning time in the 1973 Preakness has been changed to reflect that the Triple Crown-winning colt’s time was actually faster than the stakes record.

I’LL HAVE ANOTHER CONTENT AT BELMONT, COULD SOON RESUME TRAINING

BELMONT , N.Y. – Triple Crown hopeful I’ll Have Another was reported to be doing well the morning after he arrived at Belmont Park by van and will soon begin training on the Belmont main track, according to Jack Sisterson, assistant to trainer Doug O’Neill.
