LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 19, 2016) — The Breeders’ Cup announced today that the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Challenge series will consist of 77 automatic qualifying races, including four new races, into the Breeders’ Cup World Championships with 49 Challenge races held in the U.S. and Canada, and 28 races to be run outside of North America.

Birdlover Overcomes Year Absence to Win $75,000 Wishing Well Stakes Gate to Wirte Under Trujillo

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2015)—Idle one day shy of a year, trainer Doug O’Neill’s Birdlover broke sharply from her outside post under Elvis Trujillo and registered an impressive gate to

wire win in Sunday’s $75,000 Wishing Well Stakes for older fillies and mares at 6 ½ furlongs down Santa Anita’s hillside turf course.  A 5-year-old English-bred mare, Birdlover prevailed by a half length and got the distance in 1:13.22.

SANTA ANITA CONCLUDES 76TH WINTER/SPRING MEET UP IN ALL-SOURCES HANDLE, INCLUDING STRONG INCREASE IN ADW

ARCADIA, Calif. (April 21, 2013)—Santa Anita Park, which will again host the two-day Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 1 & 2, concluded its 76thwinter/spring meeting on Sunday with  overall handle up four percent.  The increase was fueled, in part, by strong gains in Account Deposit Wagering (ADW) handle through its 71-day meet which began on Dec. 26.

SANTA ANITA AUTUMN MEET TO FEATURE 28 STAKES RACES WORTH OVER $4 MILLION…

ARCADIA , Calif. (Aug. 14, 2012)—Santa Anita Park has announced a 28-event stakes schedule worth over $4 million in purses for its 24-day Autumn Meet which begins Sept. 28.  The meet offers one of the world’s most lucrative stakes programs which will be keynoted by six Grade I  “Win and You’re In” Breeders’ Cup prep stakes, five of which will be run on Saturday, Sept. 29, with the remaining Grade I event to be run Saturday, Oct. 6.

TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR BREEDERS’ CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AT SANTA ANITA PARK

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 4, 2012) – The Breeders’ Cup and Santa Anita Park today announced that tickets are now on sale to the general public for this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships, Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3. This is the sixth time that that Santa Anita will host the event and the third time under the two-day Championship format, which will begin on Friday with a 10-race program. Saturday’s card will include 12 races and will finish with the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at approximately 5:30 p.m. PT.
