Post Positions Announced for 68 Horses Competing in the Iroquois Steeplechase

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 9­, 2013 – Knowing there are 68 horses vying for a victory at the 72nd running this Saturday, crowds anxiously gathered at Percy Warner Park today for the Iroquois Steeplechase post position drawing.

Palliative Care Program Chosen as Steeplechase Pediatrician’s Circle Beneficiary Donations accepted through April 15, 2013

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 2, 2013 — The Pediatrician’s Circle is an annual fundraising tradition involving two notable Nashville institutions: the Iroquois Steeplechase and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. This year their fundraising efforts will honor outstanding Middle Tennessee pediatricians and benefit the hospital’s Palliative Care Program.

2013 Child Ambassador Maddie Wright

Murfreesboro native Madeline “Maddie” Wright is a kindergartener at Blackman Elementary. She enjoys many of the same things that any typical five-year-old would: painting pottery, going to the library and bookstore, attending Sunday School, taking gymnastic lessons, riding horses (the few times she’s been), loving animals of all kind (especially her dogs Stella and Sophia) and eating M&M pancakes, sunflower seeds and her Nana’s meatballs.
