ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2013) – Climaxed by a Breeders’ Cup Classic that typified everything that’s right about Thoroughbred racing–the beauty, the drama and the rhythmic oneness of both horse and rider–Mucho Macho Man was a near-unanimous choice as Horse of the Meet in Santa Anita’s Autumn Media Poll, by virtue of his thrilling nose victory over Will Take Charge in the $5 million Classic at 1 ¼ miles on Nov. 2.

I DAZZLE TACKLES ODDS-ON FAVORITE AROUND FAR TURN AND POWERS TO NECK VICTORY IN $75,000 AMERICAN BEAUTY STAKES AS SADLER RUNS 1-2-3

ARCADIA, Calif. (April 7, 2013)—In her first start for trainer John Sadler, Louisiana-bred I Dazzle, with Rafael Bejarano up, tackled 1-2 favorite In the Stars approaching the five-sixteenth pole and held on to win Sunday’s $75,000 American Beauty Stakes by a neck, getting one mile on turf in 1:33.42, as Sadler’s runners finished one-two-three in a five-horse field.

COMBACK COMPLETE, HALL OF FAMER STEVENS BACK IN THE SADDLE FULL-TIME WITH WIN ABOARD BRANDING, PROCTOR TRAINEE EASY MAIDEN WINNER AT SANTA ANITA

              ARCADIA , Calif. (Jan. 12, 2013)—Color the comeback of Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens complete.  A winner of three Kentucky Derbies and eight Breeders’ Cup races, Stevens emerged from a seven-year hiatus to win Saturday’s first race at Santa Anita aboard the Tom Proctor-conditioned filly, Branding, winning from off the pace by 2 ½ lengths while covering seven furlongs in 1:23.94.

GARY STEVENS MAKES RETURN TO SADDLE AT SANTA ANITA, HALL OF FAMER FINISHES THIRD, “IT FELT GOOD”

   ARCADIA , Calif. (Jan. 6, 2013)—From all outward appearances, you’d have never known he left.  Hall of Fame superstar jockey Gary Stevens, who retired from the saddle in November, 2005, looked fit as a fiddle in his comeback ride on Sunday at Santa Anita as he guided Washington-bred Jebrica to a third-place finish in the sixth race going a flat mile on turf.

JOCKEY GARY STEVENS ANNOUNCES COMEBACK ON HRTV, HALL OF FAMER NAMED TO RIDE SUNDAY AT SANTA ANITA, SAYS HE’S FIT, HEALTHY AND READY

 ARCADIA , Calif. (Jan. 3, 2013)—After a seven year hiatus, retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens , 49, and a winner of three Kentucky Derbies, announced Thursday on HRTV that he would return to the saddle this Sunday in Santa Anita’s 6th race.
