Great Britain’s Dujardin shines, and Peters springs a nice American surprise

Defending champions, Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, lived up to expectations when winning the Grand Prix on the opening day of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2014/2015 Final at the Thomas & Mack Centre in Las Vegas, USA today. The reigning Olympic, World and European title-holders produced a brilliant test to finish over six marks ahead of The Netherlands’ Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover, but the big hero of the day was America’s Steffen Peters who lined up third with Legolas just over two marks further adrift.

Irish wonderboy, Bertram Allen, wins first round of Longines Final with Molly Malone

Ireland’s Bertram Allen and the brilliant grey mare, Molly Malone, won the opening Speed competition of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping 2015 Final at the Thomas & Mack arena in Las Vegas, USA tonight. With a performance that mirrored his surprise success on the opening day of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Normandy, France last September where he eventually placed individually seventh, the German-based 19-year-old simply left the rest trailing in his wake when going 32nd in the field of 40 starters.

Las Vegas, Nevada – April 15, 2015 – The world’s best horses and riders set to compete at the 2015 Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Final took advantage of the schooling session held in the main arena on Wednesday afternoon, which gave them the opportunity to acclimate their horses to the atmosphere and practice in the dressage arena. The Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Final is being held concurrently with the LONGINES FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, April 15-19. The FEI World Cup™ Finals has returned to the United States for the first time since 2009.

Gal and Undercover Reign Supreme on Home Ground at ‘s-Hertogenbosch

The Netherlands’ Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover clinched victory at the last qualifying leg of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2014/2015 Western European League on home ground at ‘s-Hertogenbosch today. Always favourites to take maximum points after their convincing win in yesterday’s Grand Prix, the pair didn’t disappoint this afternoon when producing some spectacular work when third-last into the arena. But Gal’s masterful riding skills were fully tested by moments of tension from the 14-year-old gelding with which he finished third at the Reem Acra Final in Lyon, France last season.

Werner Ulrich (SUI) starts off his FEI World Cup™ Driving season with a victory in Stockholm

Werner Ulrich (SUI) got off to a flying start in the FEI World Cup™ Driving 2012/13 season when he won the series’ fourth leg held in Stockholm (SWE) on Sunday 2 December evening. Runner-up Tomas Eriksson (SWE) made up for his two knockdowns in the first round with a great performance in the Winning Round. Georg von Stein (GER) finished in third place.
