Kathy Cain and Legal Limit Take Intermediate Title at Colorado Horse Park’s Area IX Eventing Championships

Parker, CO – October 24, 2013 – The Colorado Horse Park hosted the Area IX Championships in conjunction with its Fall Horse Trials on Oct. 12-13. Entries were high as riders from across the region came to compete for championship titles at Beginner Novice through Intermediate levels.

FANTICOLA SPRINGS SURPRISE IN $51,000 CRUSHER ALLOWANCE PURSE, SCORES BY HALF LENGTH UNDER TALAMO AS MITCHELL GETS SECOND WIN

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2013)—Canadian-bred Fanticola tried Santa Anita’s 6 ½ furlong hillside turf course for the first time Thursday, taking the featured $51,000 Crusher Allowance Purse under Joe Talamo by a half length in 1:13 flat, providing trainer Mike Mitchell with his second win on the day.

Travers Celebration Raises $120,000, Matching All-Time Record

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The 2013 Travers Celebration committee today announced that the 13th edition of the event matched an all-time record high in generating $120,000 for its beneficiaries: the Backstretch Employee Service Team, the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund and the Times Union Hope Fund.
