Happy Endings Farm Trots Away with Top Championships During WEF X

Wellington, FL – March 21, 2013 –Champlain Clementine’s name may share the same first five letters of the word ‘champion,’ but her performances with Natalia Torano embody each and every part of the word. During Week Ten of the Winter Equestrian Festival, the pair trotted away with the championship tricolor in the Walk-Trot division.

The adorable roan pony and the equally endearing Torano proved to be a tough match for the competition. Together, Torano and Champlain Clementine, owned by Alexandria Johnson, won the Walk-Trot Pleasure class and finished in the top three of both the Walk-Trot Jump and Walk classes.

Fellow Happy Endings Farm rider, Charlotte Matthews and her mount Up Close and Personal showed that they too have what it takes to rise to the top. Matthews and Up Close and Personal, owned by Mattebella Vineyards, have been ones to watch in the Short Stirrup Hunter division all season, and after two weeks away the dynamic duo came back to deliver some of their finest rounds this season. Matthews swept the blue ribbons in both of the over fences classes before earning the Short Stirrup Hunter division championship award.

The two championship awards earned by Torano and Matthews come amidst a week filled with impressive ribbons across the board for Happy Endings Farm. Joining Matthews in the Short Stirrup Hunter classes were barnmates Helen and Corrine Sweeney. The Sweeney sisters helped achieve the perfect one, two, three finish for Happy Endings Farm in the first Short Stirrup over fences class, with Helen coming in second behind Matthews aboard Smartie Pants and Corrine coming in third riding Rockin Riley. Week after week, the three friends have stuck together atop the pack in the Short Stirrup division.

The boys of the barn added to the team’s winnings this week, with Sean Sweeney finishing in third in the Cross Rail Hunters aboard Strawberry Kid, and James Leone taking top ribbons in the Walk Trot division. Leone and Carebear finished second in the Walk Trot pleasure class and earned two third place awards in the Walk Trot and Walk Trot jump classes.
