FORT MOHAVE, Ariz. – The national PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour is ready to “rock on the river” at the 2nd Annual Fort Mojave Classic March 23-24 on the banks of the Colorado River. In a unique partnership with the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, 70 of the world’s top bull riders will converge on the Mojave Crossing Event Center in Arizona, just across the river from the AVI Resort and Casino, to compete for $58,000 in prize money.
Leading the PRCA bull riding field is three-time World Champion J.W. Harris of Mullin, Texas (2008-10), and 2004 World Champion Dustin Elliott, of North Platte, Neb.
In addition to Harris, the field will have nine other bull riding qualifiers from the 2012 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas – Kanin Asay, of Powell, Wyo.; Trey Benton III, of Rock Island, Texas; Tag Elliott, of Thatcher, Utah; Trevor Kastner, of Ardmore, Okla.; Ardie Maier, of Timber Lake, S.D.; Clayton Savage, of Casper, Wyo.; Beau Schroeder, of China, Texas; Tate Stratton, of Kellyville, Okla., and Cody Whitney, of Asher, Okla.
Mojave Crossing will also welcome the baddest, meanest, rankest one-ton athletes in the world. These bulls have bucked off cowboys at the largest rodeo venues in the world, including the Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas, the San Antonio (Texas) Stock Show & Rodeo and the Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale in Ellensburg (Wash.).
The Xtreme Bulls Tour format features 70 riders competing in a two-day event. In each performance, 35 cowboys will participate in a long-go with the top 10 riders brought back for a short round. The Fort Mojave Classic champion will be crowned based on the highest average score from both days of competition.
The performance on Saturday, March 23 begins at 7:30 p.m. (PT) and the Sunday, March 24 performance begins at 1:30 p.m. (PT). Tickets for the Fort Mojave Classic Xtreme Bulls event can be purchased by calling Ticket Force at 1-877-840-0457 or online at www.avicasino.com. Adult ticket prices range from $22-$35; tickets for kids 12 and under are $10. The Mojave Crossing Event Center is located at 101 Aztec Road, Fort Mohave, Ariz., just across the river from the AVI Resort and Casino
