Boardman has fastest time at Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

FORT WORTH, Texas (Jan. 31, 2013) — Rodeo fans at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum got to see the best tie-down roping run at the so far at this year’s Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
Cimarron Boardman from Stephenville, Texas, roped and tied his calf in 7.5 seconds to take the lead in the second round of competition. That should get him a good check here and while he was pleased with his success on Thursday night, his first round time of 14.3 seconds is a bit of a disappointment as his total of 21.8 seconds has him in the twelfth spot overall.
With 18 performances left in regular competition prior to the final round here on Feb. 9, Boardman most likely will not stay among the top twelve ropers here. However, first in the first round paid $6,080 so if he holds onto his first in the second round, he will add that to his checking account.
“I got a good calf here tonight,” Boardman said. “I knew that I probably wouldn’t have a chance to make it back for the finals with that 14.3 in the first round, so I just went for it and it worked out.”
It’s been two years since Jerome Schneeberger rom Ponca City, Okla., qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, but the 11-time qualifier is looking for number 12.
Schneeberger had some success at the National Western Stock Show Rodeo in Denver last week. He is following that up with a solid performance here. He roped and tied his calf in 9.8 seconds here Thursday night. His first round time of 8.7 was just out of the money, but his total on two of 18.5 is currently in fourth place so he is in good shape to be back here for the finals.

There are two performances of the World’s Original Indoor Rodeo® at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo continues at 2 and 7:30 on Friday.
