Victoria Colvin Wins USEF Junior Jumper Championship

Victoria Colvin of Loxahatchee, FL, won the $7,500 Randolph College/USEF Junior Jumper Championship Welcome Individual Phase One class riding Monsieur Du Reverdy at the Opening Day of the 67th Annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show on Thursday evening. The 15-year-old rider was much happier with this year’s performance. Last year she did not even complete the course.

Missy Luczak-Smith and Surf’s Up Capture Adult Amateur 36-50 Hunter Championship at Capital Challenge

Upper Marlboro, MD – October 10, 2012 – The team at Uphill Farm took the Capital Challenge Horse Show by storm last week. Not only did Missy Luczak-Smith capture the Adult Amateur 36-50 Hunter Championship, but also Meredith Darst and Lightning Z took home the reserve championship in the Large 15 and Under Junior Hunter division. Under the careful eye of trainer Tom Wright, the show was a sure success, and only the first stop for Uphill Farm as everyone prepares for the upcoming Indoors.

Rising Star, Jacob Pope, Wins 2012 Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals East

Gladstone, NJ – The country’s top young riders were on display Sunday during the 2012 Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals East. Leading an exceptional group of 92 entries, 17-year-old Jacob Pope of Columbia, MD scored an exciting victory during the prestigious event at the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, NJ. Pope’s scores were at the top of the leader board following the head-to-head final four jump-off where he showcased his skills on all four mounts during his debut at the event.

1. Muncy keeps rolling at Ram Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – If it seemed like Taos Muncy was right at home at the Ram Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo, it’s because he was – in more ways than one.

The defending saddle bronc riding world champion dominated the event in Las Cruces, N.M., winning all three rounds and the average as he continued to roll toward the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Aruna to Face 12 Rivals in Bid for Juddmonte Spinster Repeat

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 4, 2012) – Flaxman Holdings’ Aruna, seeking to become the fourth horse to win back-to-back runnings of the Juddmonte Spinster (G1), will face 12 rivals Sunday in the 57th running of the $500,000 race at 1 1/8 miles on the main track.

Keeneland Special Events Calendar Showcases Fall Stars

Lexington, KY (Oct. 2, 2012) – Keeneland celebrates its signature “Fall Stars” theme by spotlighting a “star” each week of the fall meet, which runs Oct. 5-27.

Racing is the star as Keeneland opens with its exciting Fall Stars Weekend (Oct. 5-7), with many of the nation’s most talented Thoroughbreds, trainers and jockeys competing in nine graded stakes worth more than $3 million. Seven Fall Stars stakes are Breeders’ Cup Challenge races in which the winners automatically qualify for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships to be held Nov. 2-3 at Santa Anita Park.
