FORT WORTH, Texas \u2013 At the first-ever Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo Qualifier held Thursday night during the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, the Low Riders rode lights out, winning the event and $50,000 champion\u2019s prize purse with dominant shootout round victories in the barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping and tie-down roping.<\/p>\n
Under the leadership of 26-time PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) World Champion\u00a0Trevor Brazile<\/b>, the Low Riders punched their ticket to the Shootout Round via gold medal showings in the opening round for the steer wrestling and team roping. They were carried to victory in the steer wrestling courtesy of a 5.86-second run by\u00a0Clayton Hass\u00a0<\/b>and 7.1-secod effort by\u00a0Tyler Pearson<\/b>. In the team roping, they registered a 6.21-second run by current PRCA World Champions\u00a0Tyler Wade\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Wesley Thorp<\/b>, and a 6.62-second run by\u00a0Clint Summers\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Jake Long<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Across the other disciplines the Low Riders finished second in the breakaway roping, third in the saddle bronc riding, fourth in both the barrel racing and bareback riding, and fifth in tie-down roping.<\/p>\n
They were joined in the Shootout Round by the Jokers who also rode to two discipline wins.<\/p>\n
The Jokers were dominant in the bareback riding as\u00a0Tim O\u2019Connell\u00a0<\/b>rode\u00a0Scarlet From Hell\u00a0<\/b>for 84.5 points and\u00a0Cole Franks\u00a0<\/b>conquered\u00a0Worth The Whiskey\u00a0<\/b>for 85.5 points. They also rode supreme in the tie-down roping as\u00a0John Douch\u00a0<\/b>lit up the scoreboard with a 13.10-second run and\u00a0Haven Meged\u00a0<\/b>tore up the dirt inside Dickies Arena with a lightening fast 12.49-second effort.<\/p>\n
World Champion\u00a0Sid Steiner\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0Jokers also finished second in both the steer wrestling and saddle bronc riding, third in the barrel racing and team roping, and fifth in the breakaway roping.<\/p>\n
The title of Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo Qualifier Champion then came down to one out for each team in the seven disciplines. The winning team would be determined by the first team to ride to victory in four disciplines.<\/p>\n
The Low Riders were dominant in the first three disciplines.<\/p>\n
They first won the barrel racing as\u00a0Italy Sheehan\u00a0<\/b>delivered an 18.878-second run, beating the 19.418-second effort by the Jokers\u2019\u00a0Paige Jones<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Their momentum continued to roll in the steer wrestling. Low Rider\u00a0Clayton Hass<\/b>\u2019 5.91-second run bested the 6.65-second trip from the reigning World Champion and Jokers\u2019\u00a0JD Struxness<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Team ropers Wade and Thorp then delivered the Low Riders their third consecutive Shootout Round discipline win when they turned in a torrid 6.10-second run, quicker then the 6.93-second effort by the Jokers\u2019\u00a0Colby Lovell\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Jade Corkill<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Low Riders then had the chance to win the Qualifier via a clean sweep in the bareback riding. However, Joker\u00a0Cole Franks\u00a0<\/b>rode\u00a0White Claw\u00a0<\/b>for 87 points to prevent the early win, beating the 85.5-point ride by\u00a0Jesse Pope\u00a0<\/b>on\u00a0Scarletts Belle<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The comeback by the Jokers, however, was short lived. In the tie-down roping,\u00a0Shane Hanchey\u00a0<\/b>carried the Low Riders to the event win as his 9.68-second run beat Joker\u00a0Haven Meged<\/b>\u2019s 10.46-second trip.<\/p>\n
In addition to the title of Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo Qualifier Champion, the No. 2-6 discipline seeds for Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo on May 16 in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium were also on the line. The discipline seeds were determined by each team\u2019s finish in the opening round of the Qualifier.<\/p>\n
The No. 1 seed in each discipline was awarded to the Free Riders, the inaugural Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo Champions. Led by\u00a0Bobby Mote<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Linsay Rosser-Sumpter<\/b>, the 2025 Free Riders team will be formed following conclusion of the WCRA\u2019s (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) Rodeo Corpus Christi on May 10 in Corpus Christi, Texas.<\/p>\n
The discipline seeds for the 2025 Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo are:<\/p>\n
Kid Rock\u2019s Rock N Rodeo will begin on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. CT inside AT&T Stadium. When the dust settles on the historic event, the famed venue will then host the PBR World Finals \u2013 Championship on Saturday, May 17 at 7:45 p.m. CT and Sunday, May 18 at 1:45 p.m. CT, when the 2025 PBR World Champion will be crowned, earning the accompanying $1 million bonus and coveted gold buckle.<\/p>\n
