NASHVILLE, TN (Wednesday, April 6) Patricia Branan-Wendell<\/em>– The 75th Iroquois Steeplechase season kicked off today with the Spring Luncheon with the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.<\/p>\n

Iroquois sponsors and volunteers had the opportunity to meet the 2016 Child Ambassador Brooklyn Morley and her family, and hear from Dr. Meg Rush, Chief of Staff, about the incredible work that the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital does for our community. \u00a0The hospital has been the principal beneficiary of Race Day for 35 years.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Brooklyn assisted this years Featured Artist, Hollie Berry, in the unveiling of this year’s official race day painting. \u00a0Hollie is from Chattanooga, TN. \u00a0She took her inspiration for her fantastic painting from her personal photographs of last years race.\"DSC_8142\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Race Committee Chairman, Dwight Hall, announced some exciting new happenings this year. \u00a0The Iroquois Steeplechase is working on a new \u00a0book that will cover the 75 year history of our city’s premier equestrian event. \u00a0The title is “Fierce Rivalries and Enduring Friendships: 75 years of Iroquois Steeplechase”. \u00a0We are all looking forward to reliving our memories and seeing the photographs of our friends.<\/p>\n

Another exciting announcement by Dwight Hall is the 75th Iroquois Time Capsule. \u00a0Placement of the time capsule is not firmed up at this time but it is looking good for near the bell tower in the barn area. \u00a0If you have some wonderful memorable that you would like to include in the time capsule, please contact the Iroquois Steeplechase office in Franklin, TN.<\/p>\n
