Encino, CA (May 23, 2013) \u2013 Sweetwater Rain recently stopped by Curb Records to present ACM Lifting Lives\u00ae, the charitable arm of the Academy, with a $10,000 donation.\u00a0 ACM Lifting Lives board members, President Bill Mayne and Vice President Lori Badgett, were on hand to accept the generous contribution.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sweetwater Rain\u2019s debut single, \u201cStarshine\u201d was released in the fall of 2012 which quickly climbed the Billboard charts to hit Billboard Top 50.\u00a0 The music video for \u201cStarshine\u201d can be seen on GAC, CMT, and TCN and has garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube.\u00a0 The trio is gearing up to release their sophomore single, \u201cPray For Me,\u201d in the summer of 2013 while touring across the U.S.\u00a0 For more information on the rising country music group and to stay up to date with tour dates, visit\u00a0www.SweetwaterRain.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

About ACM Lifting Lives<\/strong><\/p>\n

ACM Lifting Lives\u00ae is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music.\u00a0\u00a0Each year, ACM Lifting Lives provides funding to music-related therapy and education programs, including the organization\u2019s flagship ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp, a partnership since 2010 with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in Nashville, TN. ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp is a week-long residential program open to individuals with Williams syndrome, talented in music from around the nation, and has a dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome while providing music enrichment through performance and education. Other Lifting Lives giving includes serving members of the country music community who face unexpected financial hardship through the Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund, and partnering with music artists to improve lives.
