Wellington, FL, April 12, 2013- Dressage\u00a0superstar Donnerbube\u00a02’s FEI passport was\u00a0so\u00a0stuffed with stamps that\u00a0his rider, Silvia Rizzo, had to procure a new passport for the globe-trotting horse.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Rizzo and\u00a0her\u00a0Oldenburg stallion, nicknamed “Bubi,”\u00a0have been delighting dressage audiences around the world. \u00a0Most recently, in late March, the\u00a0duo returned from\u00a0a successful outing at the\u00a0Chi Al\u00a0Shaqab\u00a0festival’s CDI4*\u00a0in\u00a0Doha, Qatar.\u00a0The invitation-only event featured accomplished dressage riders from around the world and took place alongside top-class endurance and show jumping competitions.<\/p>\n

“To be invited to Doha for their first CDI4* was a huge honor for me!” Rizzo said. “It was a totally new experience. We went to a country that I didn’t know, that has huge development and is very focused on bringing dressage there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Rizzo appreciated the show organizers’ generosity: travel expenses for horses and riders were covered as part of the invitation. She enjoyed her stay in a five-star hotel and spent time visiting the city and local attractions.<\/p>\n

“The city in the night is completely transformed, with a million lights that you can see from far away,” she explained. “So\u00a0Bubi during his ‘evening walk’\u00a0was astonished by all these incredible lights!”<\/p>\n

Rizzo\u00a0described the facility\u00a0in Doha\u00a0as\u00a0“totally new and really modern, with perfect facilities and organization.”<\/p>\n

The Doha CDI came not long after the pair\u00a0completed a one-month tour in South Florida in February. \u00a0 While in Florida, Rizzo, who rides for Italy but lives in Germany, visited Walt Disney World and had her photo taken with Mickey Mouse,\u00a0but\u00a0there just wasn’t room in the car for the horse. Instead,\u00a0Bubi\u00a0and\u00a0Rizzo competed in\u00a0a busy schedule of\u00a0shows, including the\u00a0prestigious\u00a0World Dressage Masters Palm Beach CDI5*.<\/p>\n

Before Christmas, the two competed in\u00a0a World Cup qualifier in\u00a0Stockholm, Sweden, and in November they went down centerline in\u00a0a CDI4* in\u00a0Wien\u00a0Stadthalle, Austria. \u00a0Earlier that month,\u00a0they competed in Lyon, France and in September they traveled to\u00a0Vienna, Austria,\u00a0and Wroclaw, Poland. \u00a0In July, they\u00a0piaffed\u00a0in\u00a0Falsterbo, Sweden, at the CDI5*\u00a0World Dressage Masters\u00a0and\u00a0in February and March they braved the cold in Wroclaw, Poland. \u00a0And that was just 2012 and the first few months of 2013.<\/p>\n

“Bubi\u00a0and I competed really all over the world,” Rizzo shared. “Italy, Poland, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, USA,\u00a0Qatar, Czech Republic, Slovenia, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Germany and\u00a0Holland. \u00a0 Three continents!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Rizzo and her horse are currently\u00a018th on the\u00a0Western European League World Cup Ranking and second reserve in line\u00a0to participate\u00a0in the 2013\u00a0Reem\u00a0Acra\u00a0World Cup\u00a0Dressage\u00a0Finals\u00a0to be held in\u00a0Gothenburg, Sweden,\u00a0at\u00a0the end of\u00a0April. The combination’s outstanding results in 2012 and 2013 enabled a giant leap on the 2013 WBFSH Dressage Horse Ranking. Donnerbube is now ranked 49th overall and contributes to the Oldenburg breed’s fifth place on the ranking list.<\/p>\n

Rizzo said she is thrilled to be traveling the world with\u00a0Bubi. \u00a0“I\u00a0am already a very active person and,\u00a0of course, he is very active too,” she said.\u00a0“I don’t really know if I infected him or he infected me with the travel bug,\u00a0but we love travel!\u00a0\u00a0We love\u00a0visiting\u00a0new places and having new adventures.\u00a0\u00a0Everything you do with\u00a0Bubi\u00a0is a real adventure!”<\/p>\n

“I am so lucky to have a travel companion like\u00a0Bubi, who allowed me to attend\u00a0the biggest shows all over the world,” she added. “I have so much pleasure riding among the\u00a0top riders of the world. Thank you,\u00a0Bubi.”<\/p>\n
