ENCINO, CA (February 13, 2013) \u2013 Nominations were announced today for the\u00a048th<\/sup>\u00a0ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS<\/strong>\u00ad, a star-studded event honoring country music\u2019s best and introducing the industry\u2019s hottest emerging talent. Produced for television by dick clark productions, the ACM Awards will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas onSunday, April 7th<\/sup>, 2013 at 8:00 PM live ET\/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nominees were revealed online via the second annual\u00a0ACM digital press conference<\/strong>\u00a0this morning on the Academy\u2019s Facebook and Twitter pages. Iconic singer-songwriter\u00a0Sheryl Crow<\/strong>,\u00a0The Band Perry<\/strong>,\u00a02 Broke Girls<\/em>\u00a0star\u00a0Beth Behrs<\/strong>,\u00a0Little Big Town<\/strong>,\u00a0Scotty McCreery<\/strong>,\u00a0Ryan Seacrest<\/strong>,\u00a0The Talk\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0Julie Chen, Sarah Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sheryl Underwood<\/strong>, plusEntertainment Tonight<\/em>\u00a0co-anchors\u00a0Nancy O\u2019Dell<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Rob Marciano\u00a0<\/strong>all announced batches of nominations in video postings during the approximately 35 minute online event, which culminated in music fans announcing the nominees for the Academy\u2019s biggest prize, Entertainer of the Year:\u00a0Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Taylor Swif<\/strong>t. For the second year, fans were invited to submit videos naming their favorite artist in this category.<\/p>\n

As nominations were announced via the ACM social media channels,\u00a0The Band Perry<\/strong>\u00a0continued the interaction as they took over theMusic On Facebook\u00a0<\/strong>page at\u00a0www.facebook.com\/musicians<\/a>.\u00a0 Over a million\u00a0Music On Facebook\u00a0<\/strong>fans, as well as any visitors to the page, were able to watch The Band Perry simultaneously update as the Academy of Country Music posted the nominations.<\/p>\n

As previously announced,\u00a0Blake Shelton<\/strong>\u00a0will join forces with\u00a0Luke Bryan\u00a0<\/strong>to host the\u00a048th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.\u00a0<\/strong>This year\u2019s show will mark reigning ACM Male Vocalist of the Year Shelton\u2019s third consecutive turn hosting the Awards and Bryan\u2019s first time hosting a LIVE televised event.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the sixth year, fans will help select the winner of the Academy\u2019s most prestigious honor,\u00a0Entertainer of the Year,<\/strong>\u00a0and for the fifth year, the\u00a0New Artist of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0category will also be opened up to fan voting.\u00a0Brantley Gilbert, Jana Kramer\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Florida Georgia Line\u00a0<\/strong>are the nominees for this year\u2019s ACM New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl\u2019s Department Stores.\u00a0 In the first round of fan voting at GACtv.com, fans named Gilbert, Kramer and Florida Georgia Line for ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year, ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year and ACM New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, respectively. The winners of those categories go on to compete for overall ACM New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl’s. The winners of\u00a0Entertainer of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0New Artist of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0will be announced\u00a0<\/strong>live during the 48th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.<\/p>\n

Eric Church<\/strong><\/tt> leads with seven nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year and his second consecutive nod for Album of the Year and Video of the Year. He is twice nominated for Song of the Year for \u201cSpringsteen,\u201d as both artist and <\/tt>composer. Church also earned nominations for Single of the Year for \u201cSpringsteen\u201d and for Vocal Event of the Year for \u201cThe Only Way I Know\u201d with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.\u00a0\u00a0<\/tt><\/p>\n

Hunter Hayes<\/strong>\u00a0received six nominations, including New Male Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year for \u201cWanted.\u201d He is also twice nominated in the Song of the Year category as the artist and composer, as well as in the Single Record of the Year category as the artist and producer for \u201cWanted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miranda Lambert<\/strong>\u00a0earned five nominations, including her second nomination for Entertainer of the Year and seventh consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year. In addition, Lambert was nominated for Single Record of the Year and twice nominated for Song of the Year, as artist and composer, for \u201cOver You.\u201d Lambert is the reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reigning Entertainer of the Year,\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u00a0received five nominations, including her fourth consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year.\u00a0 If Swift wins Entertainer of the Year, this will be her third consecutive win in that category. Swift is nominated for the sixth time for Female Vocalist of the Year and for the fourth time for Video of the Year for \u201cWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.\u201d She also received a double nomination for Album of the Year for\u00a0Red\u00a0<\/em>as the artist and producer.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luke Bryan\u00a0<\/strong>received four nominations, including his first ever Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year nominations. He also received nominations for Album of the Year for\u00a0tailgates & tanlines\u00a0<\/em>and Vocal Event of the Year for \u201cThe Only Way I Know\u201d with Jason Aldean and Eric Church.<\/p>\n

First-time ACM nominee,\u00a0Kacey Musgraves<\/strong>\u00a0is nominated for four awards including Female Vocalist of the Year, New Female Vocalist of the Year and twice for Video of the Year for \u201cMerry Go \u2018Round\u201d as both artist and producer.<\/p>\n

Little Big Town<\/strong>\u00a0leads group nominations with four nods, including their seventh nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. They are also nominated for Album of the Year,<\/em>\u00a0Single Record of the Year for \u201cPontoon\u201d and Video of the Year for \u201cTornado.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason Aldean<\/strong>\u00a0is nominated for three awards, including his third consecutive nod for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. He is nominated for Vocal Event of the Year for \u201cThe Only Way I Know\u201d\u00a0<\/em>with Luke Bryan and Eric Church.<\/p>\n

Reigning Male Vocalist of the Year,\u00a0Blake Shelton\u00a0<\/strong>is nominated for three awards, including his third consecutive nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year and second nod for Entertainer of the Year. Shelton also received a nomination for Song of the Year as composer for \u201cOver You\u201d with Miranda Lambert.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eli Young Band\u00a0<\/strong>earned three nominations, including their second consecutive nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. They also received nominations for \u201cEven If It Breaks Your Heart\u201d in the Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Florida Georgia Line\u00a0<\/strong>received nominations for three awards, including Vocal Duo of the Year, New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year<\/strong>and New Artist of the Year. This is Florida Georgia Line\u2019s first year to be nominated.<\/p>\n

The Academy of Country Music\u2019s professional membership selects the nominees and winners of the\u00a0ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS<\/strong>, and selects the final top five nominees of the Entertainer of the Year category. New Artist of the Year final nominees were selected by a combined vote of the fans and professional members. Presenters and performers who will appear at the ceremony will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n

Fan voting for\u00a0New Artist of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Entertainer of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0begins on March 25, 2013 at 3:00 PM ET\/12noon PT at VoteACM.com. Fan voting for\u00a0New Artist<\/strong>\u00a0of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0will close at 5 p.m. PT on April 7, 2013 (before the LIVE show starts) and fan voting for\u00a0Entertainer of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0will close during the third hour of the LIVE broadcast.<\/p>\n
