Haute hats, southern spring wear and the latest fashions are synonymous with the Iroquois Steeplechase
The Iroquois Steeplechase is the premier spring race in American steeplechasing and Music City’s traditional rite of spring – typically attracting more than 25,000 spectators.
With that, it’s no wonder that fashion and style create quite a buzz among steeplechasers. It’s a time to showcase chic spring wear that embodies southern elegance.
At the Iroquois, it’s fashionable to be caught wearing something a little more bold and festive. Ladies can be seen pairing fancy, feathered and floral hats with sundresses of all shades and patterns. The Iroquois gentleman tends to stick with linen and seersucker suits, bow ties and other stylish neck wear.
Selecting the perfect steeplechase ensemble is a big part of the day. Guests look to the official steeplechase style guide, The Steeplechase Lookbook, to create their outfits and get a head start by attending the Lookbook fashion show in April to see what the latest that local designer are offering.
