Kentucky-based race course to sponsor The Guilford Dudley, Jr. Memorial Flat Race for fourth year
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 20, 2013 – Kentucky Downs, America’s only European-style race course, will return as a sponsor of the Iroquois Steeplechase, set for May 11, 2013.
“Kentucky Downs started as a race course for steeplechasing, so it’s no surprise that we’ve always been a proud supporter of steeplechase events,” said Ray Reid, managing partner of Kentucky Downs. “We’re honored to be associated with such a premier North American steeplechase event as the Iroquois.”
Kentucky Downs will once again sponsor the first race – The Guilford Dudley, Jr. Memorial Flat Race.
“The Iroquois is a great way to spread the word about Kentucky Downs to fellow race enthusiasts,” said Reid. “From live turf racing on our race course in September, to simulcast racing from tracks around the country several days a week, to our new Instant Racing machines, we’re proud to tell folks they can follow horse racing year-round with us.”
“Kentucky Downs shares our passion for horse racing and we are honored that they continue to support the Iroquois,” said Dwight Hall, race chairman of the Iroquois Steeplechase. “It’s with their help that our event has become known as Nashville’s Rite of Spring drawing more than 25,000 guests every year.”
