Zayat Stables’ Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner American Pharoah breezed five furlongs in 1:00.20 on a fast track under Martin Garcia at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Ky. The Bob Baffert-trained 3-year-old will attempt to become horse racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner – and first since Affirmed in 1978 – in the 147th running of the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (Grade I) on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Belmont Park. Splits for the workout, which occurred under light rainfall, were :13, :25, :36.60 and :48.60. He galloped out six furlongs in 1:13, seven furlongs in 1:26 and one mile in 1:39.60.
American Pharoah will leave Churchill Downs’ Barn 33 at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday for a van ride to Louisville International Airport. His charter flight to Long Island MacArthur Airport is scheduled to depart at approximately 11:15 a.m. ET with a 12:45 p.m. arrival time.
