LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 28, 2015) – Thoroughbred breeders from around the world will be in Lexington when Keeneland’s 72nd November Breeding Stock Sale begins Monday, Nov. 2. Globally recognized as the premier auction of its kind, the sale immediately follows the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, being held for the first time at Keeneland on Oct. 30-31.

A total of 4,476 horses have been cataloged to the sale: 2,610 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 1,719 weanlings, 130 horses of racing age, and 17 stallions and stallion prospects.

The 12-day auction runs through Nov. 13 and will be streamed live on Keeneland.com. The first two sessions, which comprise Book 1, will begin at 11 a.m. ET. Remaining sessions will start at 10 a.m.

Featured mares are Grade 1 winners Don’t Tell Sophia, in foal to Medaglia d’Oro, Hard Not to Like, Photo Call (IRE), Sam’s Sister, Spring in the Air, Sunset Glow and champion Take Charge Brandi.

Of the featured mares, Hard Not to Like and Photo Call (IRE) are to run in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1), and Take Charge Brandi won the 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) last year.

Hard Not to Like and two other 2015 Breeders’ Cup contenders were sold as horses of racing age in last year’s November Sale: Barbados (Las Vegas Dirt Mile-G1) and Slumber (GB) (Longines Turf-G1).

Other horses cataloged to this year’s November Sale and set to run in the Breeders’ Cup are Bradester (Dirt Mile-G1), Room for Me (TwinSpires Filly & Mare Sprint-G1) and Sweet Whiskey (Filly & Mare Sprint).
Additionally, this year’s Breeders’ Cup includes four horses who were sold as weanlings at the November Sale: Travers (G1) winner Keen Ice, entered in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1); two horses entered in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Mile – Shadwell Turf Mile (G1) winner Grand Arch and Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (G1) winner Mshawish; and undefeated Grade 1-winning 2-year-old Nyquist, entered in the $2 million Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).

Also cataloged to the sale is a group of relatives of a number of Breeders’ Cup contenders and past winners. Among them is Bella Jolie, dam of TwinSpires Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) contender Runhappy, and the colt’s weanling half-brother by Exchange Rate. Bella Jolie is in foal to Cairo Prince.

The 2015 November Sale includes the dispersals of Nat Rea’s Regis Farms, LP and the late Jerre Paxton’s Northwest Farms.

Consigned by Three Chimneys Farm, the Regis Farms dispersal comprises 41 horses, including 15 broodmares, six weanlings and 20 horses of racing age, all to be offered without reserve. Highlighting the dispersal are 2015 Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) runner-up Shook Up, by Tapit out of Grade 1 winner Sugar Shake; Canadian Horse of the Year, multiple champion and Canadian Filly Triple Crown winner Sealy Hill, in foal to Medaglia d’Oro; and Bijou, a half-sister to two Grade 1-winning juvenile fillies in Certify and Cry and Catch Me.

Also featured in the dispersal are 2015 Santa Ynez (G2) winner Seduire; Zindaya, graded stakes-placed and winner of the 2015 Intercontinental Stakes at Belmont; the impressive stakes winner and graded stakes-placed colt Donworth; and the Tapit filly Tapas, in foal to Distorted Humor.

Bruce Gibbs’ Greenfield Farm is agent for the Northwest Farms dispersal of 42 horses. Mares include stakes winners Blueberry Smoothie, in foal to Candy Ride (ARG); Goin to the Window, in foal to War Front; and Stopshoppingdebbie, in foal to Medaglia d’Oro. Weanlings by War Front, Blame, Awesome Again, Bodemeister, Candy Ride (ARG) and Smart Strike also will be offered.

Horses of racing age will be offered on Monday, Nov. 9, and Tuesday, Nov. 10, and include the annual consignment from WinStar Racing, agent.

The November Sale includes mares in foal to 214 of the world’s most prominent stallions and exciting young sires, including Australia (GB), Bernardini, Bodemeister, Camelot (GB), Declaration of War, Distorted Humor, Elusive Quality, Frankel (GB), Giant’s Causeway, Invincible Spirit (IRE), Kitten’s Joy, Lemon Drop Kid, Lope de Vega (IRE), Malibu Moon, Medaglia d’Oro, More Than Ready, Orb, Pioneerof the Nile, Scat Daddy, Smart Strike, Speightstown, Tapit, Tiznow, Uncle Mo and War Front.

Weanlings in the catalog represent 196 leading stallions, including such established sires as Awesome Again, Bernardini, Bodemeister, Curlin, Declaration of War, Distorted Humor, Galileo (IRE), Giant’s Causeway, Into Mischief, Kitten’s Joy, Lemon Drop Kid, Medaglia d’Oro, Pioneerof the Nile, Scat Daddy, Smart Strike, Speightstown, Street Cry (IRE), Street Sense, Super Saver, Tapit, Tiznow, Uncle Mo and War Front.
